Senior personnel from GeoExchange Australia recently returned from two weeks in India where they were assisting partner company - GeoCooling Technology India (www.geocoolingtechnology.com) with their understanding of the technology and development of the local industry.
Based out of New Delhi, GeoCooling Technology will be offering geoexchange systems to all sectors of the Indian market, with initial focus on commercial buildings in the northern half of the country.
Interest in the technology from architects, government and developers has been high as energy is fast becoming an increasingly scarce resource in this rapidly developing country. Geoexchange systems will provide energy and maintenance savings as well as energy security for the many buildings that are reliant on diesel generators for emergency
power during periods of low or non-existent supply.
Ironically, it is the increased expectation of air conditioning in buildings which is placing stress on the energy suppliers - especially during peak cooling periods. With reductions in both average and peak loads, geoexchange systems can go a long way to being part of the solution.
